First General Mixer!

Thanks to everyone who came out to our First General Mixer last Thursday!

We started off the night with a presentation from our officers about our club's founding and our mission. The officers introduced themselves and each told a funny or embarrassing story.

Then we migrated down the hall to eat some yummy snacks and play human tic-tac-toe!

There were various descriptions written on the board that each corresponded to a specific square on the tic-tac-toe board. The host and judge of the game was Duy, our awesome secretary!

We split into two teams and in the end, Team 2 won two games and was declared the winner. Even so, we all decided to share the prize =]

After the event was over, many stayed to mingle with new friends.

If you missed this event, don't worry! We will have more events to come and we will definitely keep you posted! =]

Calapalooza!

Thanks to everyone who came out to Calapalooza! We were really happy with the results—almost 4 pages of contact info, and a space where a stack of pamphlets used to be. We had leftover candy, but no EALC literature!

Probably my favorite part about the table was our poster—the members put together a multicolored, multilingual poster that read “Interested in our club? Have any questions? Come check us out!” written by turns in Chinese, Japanese and Korean. While many came over and asked what we were about it was still nice to get attention from those not interested in the group—all throughout the night, some students would just stand transfixed in front of the poster, mouth out a portion of the message in one of three languages, look up and notice us watching for interest from the table, and scurry away.

Now that tabling’s done, our first event is right around the corner—Our General Mixer Night is on Thursday, September 10th at 7PM in TBA Dwinelle.

You can find all the info on the facebook event.

We’re hoping to explain a little more who we are and what we have lined up for this semester, hear what you’d like from us, and then play games and just hang out and get to know each other a bit.

Still no room assignment yet—ASUC is a little backed up, but as soon as we know we’ll post it to the facebook event and email it to all the new (and old) emails we have on our list. Hope to see you there!
