EALC First Spring Semester Language Exchange Night

こんにちは!안녕하세요! 你好!

It's time for the First Spring Semester Language Exchange Night of the EALC Undergraduate Student Association this Wednesday, March 3rd from 6-8pm in 87 Dwinelle! Come and meet new people and converse in different languages: Chinese (both Mandarin & Cantonese), Korean and Japanese. This is an excellent opportunity to practice the language you are learning, or to brush up on your language skills, or just to connect with others who are passionate about East Asian languages and cultures. This'll be good to cool down and have fun before the main onslaught of midterms begins!

WHEN: Wednesday, March 3, 2010
TIME: 6:00pm - 8:00pm
WHERE: 87 Dwinelle

Oh, and there will be light refreshments and snacks! (I can't guarantee multilingual ice cream or cupcakes though...)

AFTER: First General Mixer!

A big thanks to all those who came out to the EALC USA Spring First General Mixer, despite the terrible rainy weather! :( We hope that meeting new people and learning about the club was as much fun for you as it was for us!

First was a presentation by our officers about the founding, history and purpose of the club.

Next, we played a game where we had to name a geographical location using the last letter of the previously said place name.

We found out too soon that too many countries began and ended with A...

And after that we took it easy and mingled amongst each other! It was a lot of fun talking with and learning about people from various backgrounds, and how they got interested in East Asian languages and cultures!

Mingle mingle. We were going to do another game, but everyone was enjoying talking and making new friends!

Our next scheduled event will be a Language Exchange Night on March 3rd. Details will be announced later, but this will be a great opportunity to practice your language skills and learn something new! We hope to see you next time!
